Warfarin is a blood thinner, or anticoagulant, that is commonly used as medication for people that suffer with blood clotting conditions, just like DVT - Deep Vein Thrombosis. It works because it thins the blood to a point where it cannot clot anymore, so when the animal that has ingested it, they are likely to bleed out if they injure themselves, as well as suffering from complications associated with anemia, as well as internal bleeding and the blood loss.
