First of all, it starts with the fact that there are those who have been having great success in keeping seagulls away. For example, restaurant owners have long offered patrons the ability to dine outside, by attaching small wires around the patio area that prevent the seagulls from being able to fly or land near the patio. The same kind of thing can be done around your dock without being intrusive upon your ability to secure your boat there.

You can try such things as nets were spikes on your boat, but this likely proves to be more of a hassle than something to attempt. The fact remains that the spikes can be dangerous during rough seas, and placing netting up on your boat may create more problems than it's worth.

Startling the birds is the primary way to keep seagulls away, and there are a couple of different techniques that you can employ that can be quite successful. Caves are the perfect habitat for these animals, which can either migrate or hibernate in the colder months.
