Professional Wildlife Removal Company Servicing Hanover, PA

Hanover Wildlife Animal Control

If you are having a problem with wildlife in your Hanover home, your best option is to hire a company that specializes in Pennsylvania wildlife removal only. This is a specialty business, and regular pest control companies do not use the proper techniques to solve animal problems. I have spent many years reviewing Hanover, and I recommend the following:

This Space Available
Cell Phone: ###-###-####

NOTE: If you have a dog or cat problem, call York County Animal Services: 717-225-5532

This Space Available specializes primarily in removing animals from attics of homes and buildings - this includes squirrels in attics, raccoons, and rats or mice in homes. Pennsylvania also has a documented problem with bats in buildings, and This Space Available is specially trained in bat removal. They also perform general wildlife trapping services, such as the capture and removal of skunks or opossums on the property. Call ###-###-#### to discuss your critter problem and schedule a same-day or next-day appointment.

When hiring a company to solve your wild animal problem, you want these features:
    - Specializes in wildlife removal, not pest control
    - Fully Pennsylvania and York County licensed and insured
    - Works 7 days per week (critters don't take weekends off)
    - Performs full building inspections: enters and inspects attic
    - Performs exclusion repairs, with guarantee against animal re-entry
    - Offers cleanup of biohazardous wildlife waste

This Space Available is a full-service Hanover wildlife removal company. This is very different from a regular Hanover pest control company. The pest control companies spray poison to kill insects. This is not at all similar to wildlife removal. This Space Available performs a full inspection of the home or property, and determines why the animal(s) are there, and if inside a building, how the animals got inside. All animals (including rodents) are trapped and removed, or if possible, removed from the building using special exclusion devices. Once the animals are gone, preventative repairs are essential, and cleanup is sometimes recommended.

Hanover wildlife trapping - it's not as simple as it may seem. It's illegal in Pennsylvania to trap without a license. Trap type is very important and there are many different types, bait is somewhat relevant, trap placement is vital, and there are dozens of small things that are very important to know. Safety is a concern. Then once the animal is trapped, it must be removed and dealt with in the proper manner according to Pennsylvania law. We offer Hanover raccoon removal. Read more about how to get rid of raccoons.
Animals in attics - this is our specialty at This Space Available. Many types of animals like to live in attics. This includes squirrels, raccoons, rats, mice, bats, birds, and even possums. Critters like to go into attics for a safe place to live and raise their young. Removing animals from attics is very complex work, partly because of the presence of baby animals. If you need Hanover squirrel removal, we can remove all the squirrels from your attic, and seal out any future ones. Read more about how to get rid of squirrels.
Rodent control must be done in a very specific way. First off, the most important thing is that all the openings that rats and mice can use to enter a house be sealed. Then all the rodents must be physically trapped and removed. Never, ever use poison! Most Hanover exterminators will just use this lazy poison technique to kill rodents, and it causes more harm than good - dead stinky rats, and it doesn't solve the problem. Call us for correct Hanover rat removal. Read more about how to get rid of rats.
Bat removal is a highly specialized task. Pennsylvania is known to have colonizing bats who often live in buildings. Bats love attics. If not removed, the colony can grow to a very large size over the years. The bat droppings are often corrosive and cause health risks. The same goes for bird droppings on or in buildings. We perform Hanover pigeon removal and bird control. But our specialty is Hanover bat removal. We remove 100% of the bat colony and seal the building so that it's totally bat-proof. Read more about how to get rid of bats.
If you have animals inside a house, no job is complete without proper exclusion repairs. If you simply hire a Hanover trapper who only removes the critters, then the problem will return. You need to hire a Hanover wildlife control company that identifies 100% of the animal entry points into your building, and seals them shut with professional repairs. In addition, in many cases animals have left waste or contamination behind, and you'll want a company that can provide professional cleaning services. This Space Available does both.
The above are just some of the services offered by This Space Available. We also trap and remove animals that destroy lawns, such as moles, or digging animals. Sometimes animals like opossums will live under buildings, steal pet food, raid garbage cans, etc. Read about how to get rid of opossums. Skunks commonly live under sheds or decks, and set up a den. We can trap and remove them without them spraying. Read about how to get rid of skunks. This Space Available also provides dead animal removal in Hanover. If you need help with any other wildlife conflict, from a fox, beaver, groundhog, or any other critter, we can solve it. We also do Hanover snake removal - most of the snakes in Pennsylvania are not venomous, but call us if you want safe removal, or read about how to get rid of snakes in Hanover. And remember, we are a private business, not York County Animal Control Services, so if you have a dog or cat problem, call the County at 717-225-5532. York County animal services does not handle any wildlife issues.

Hanover Wildlife Tip #1:
What to do about a possum or skunk under your house? - So you think you have a possum or skunk living under your home and you are not sure what to do! Don't panic, ladies and gentleman, for help is at hand. There are a few easy steps to resolve this pesky problem, and as long as you follow these directions, you will be possum or skunk-free in next to no time at all! Get yourself some heavy duty, durable material. Why? To block up the holes that the possum or skunk is using to gain access to your home, of course! You could use a number of materials, but you must make sure that the possum or skunk cannot claw or nibble through it. Try looking at vinyl, stucco, mesh wiring, or wood.

1. Look around your home for holes. It could be something as large as a gaping hole in the side of your home, or something as small as a drain, air conditioning unit, or even an open window with a broken screen door.

2.Try to work out which of the holes your possum or skunk is using, and if they are using more than one, the one that they are using the most. This will take a little investigative work, but it will be worth it in the end, we promise you!

3. Block up all of the holes with the material that you bought, with the exception of the most used hole. Why not this hole? Well, if you do block this hole up as well, you are going to be blocking the creature underneath your home, and very soon it will die of starvation if nothing else. Then your home is going to stink and you are going to kick yourself!

4. Using the most used hole, place a trap nearby and bait it. Lay in wait until you have caught the creature.

5. Once the animal has been caught, block up the final hole and you should have put a stop to the rather annoying possum or skunk problem!

Hanover Wildlife Tip #2:
Skunk house damage - Skunks don't do a lot of damage to a home or a building they live under. Yes, they will often dig their own dens, and sometimes these dens can cause structural damage to a foundation or a porch. Beyond that, skunks aren't constant chewers like rats or mice, so you don't have to worry about the critter chewing up the interior of your home. In fact, it's rare for a skunk to progress into the upper aspects of a home; when they invade your space, it's often in a basement or a crawlspace. The damage people frequently have to deal with is generally to the property itself. Skunks eat a lot of insects. They spend their time at night outside digging up the yard and any gardens that might be in the yard. When you wake up in the morning, your yard will be pock marked with little brown piles of soil. While the lawn damage is easily remedied, the smell of having a skunk around the property is enough to wish the animal was gone. If you're having issues, call a wildlife removal company to assist you.

Pennsylvania Wildlife Information:

Pennsylvania State bird: Ruffed grouse
State mammal: White-tailed deer
tate insect: 7-spotted ladybug, Pennsylvania firefly
State fish: Brook trout

You can find a variety of landscapes in Pennsylvania, though the majority of the state is covered in forest. Pennsylvania has a fair amount of flat land and a fair amount of mountainous land. No matter where you go, you are bound to run into wildlife. Warm-loving animals will not be so inclined to live in this state, though the southern region has more mild temperatures than the mountainous north. Because of the slight temperature difference, snakes and amphibians are more populous in the south. Rattlesnakes, one of the venomous snakes in the state, are only found in the lower aspect of Pennsylvania. Smaller snakes, like the garter snake, make their home just about anywhere they can find.

Reptiles aren't the only critters that like Pennsylvania. The state has hundreds of sheltered ponds and lakes, and this promotes a healthy population of beavers, otters, and muskrats. Other semi-aquatic animals include the snapping turtle and the common water snake.

Of predators, Pennsylvania has only two large mammalian carnivores. The black bear and coyote are at the top of the food chain in this state, though there have been numerous sightings of mountain lions over the last decade. The state's Department of Fish and Game adamantly dismisses the rumors, and has been able to disprove most of the sightings. Still, many residents feel there is a breeding population of the large cats somewhere in the state. Black bear, though destructive when they find a bird feeder or an open garbage can, are not seen as commonly as coyotes. There has been a large increase in the coyote population; likely due to almost no predation and ample supply of white-tailed deer and other small game. Because of the abundance of wildlife, coyotes are usually only problematic if they are in an urban area. In this setting, the canines can become bold and dangerous, threatening house pets and small children.

Still, the most popular home invaders in Pennsylvania are of a much smaller size. Raccoons and squirrels are always on the hunt for an empty attic, and rats and mice will take any opportunity to sneak into a home. Woodchucks are just as common and irritating; the stout creatures quickly moving in under unprotected decks and patios.

If homeowners are really unlucky, they will forget to secure their pet door at night and will wake up to find a porcupine has entered the house looking for cat food.
