Professional Wildlife Removal Company Servicing Logansport, IN

Logansport Wildlife Animal Control

If you are having a problem with wildlife in your Logansport home, your best option is to hire a company that specializes in Indiana wildlife removal only. This is a specialty business, and regular pest control companies do not use the proper techniques to solve animal problems. I have spent many years reviewing Logansport, and I recommend the following:

American Animal Control, LLC
Cell Phone: 219-359-1612

NOTE: If you have a dog or cat problem, call Cass County Animal Services: 219-753-3690

American Animal Control, LLC specializes primarily in removing animals from attics of homes and buildings - this includes squirrels in attics, raccoons, and rats or mice in homes. Indiana also has a documented problem with bats in buildings, and American Animal Control, LLC is specially trained in bat removal. They also perform general wildlife trapping services, such as the capture and removal of skunks or opossums on the property. Call 219-359-1612 to discuss your critter problem and schedule a same-day or next-day appointment.

When hiring a company to solve your wild animal problem, you want these features:
    - Specializes in wildlife removal, not pest control
    - Fully Indiana and Cass County licensed and insured
    - Works 7 days per week (critters don't take weekends off)
    - Performs full building inspections: enters and inspects attic
    - Performs exclusion repairs, with guarantee against animal re-entry
    - Offers cleanup of biohazardous wildlife waste

American Animal Control, LLC is a full-service Logansport wildlife removal company. This is very different from a regular Logansport pest control company. The pest control companies spray poison to kill insects. This is not at all similar to wildlife removal. American Animal Control, LLC performs a full inspection of the home or property, and determines why the animal(s) are there, and if inside a building, how the animals got inside. All animals (including rodents) are trapped and removed, or if possible, removed from the building using special exclusion devices. Once the animals are gone, preventative repairs are essential, and cleanup is sometimes recommended.

Logansport wildlife trapping - it's not as simple as it may seem. It's illegal in Indiana to trap without a license. Trap type is very important and there are many different types, bait is somewhat relevant, trap placement is vital, and there are dozens of small things that are very important to know. Safety is a concern. Then once the animal is trapped, it must be removed and dealt with in the proper manner according to Indiana law. We offer Logansport raccoon removal. Read more about how to get rid of raccoons.
Animals in attics - this is our specialty at American Animal Control, LLC. Many types of animals like to live in attics. This includes squirrels, raccoons, rats, mice, bats, birds, and even possums. Critters like to go into attics for a safe place to live and raise their young. Removing animals from attics is very complex work, partly because of the presence of baby animals. If you need Logansport squirrel removal, we can remove all the squirrels from your attic, and seal out any future ones. Read more about how to get rid of squirrels.
Rodent control must be done in a very specific way. First off, the most important thing is that all the openings that rats and mice can use to enter a house be sealed. Then all the rodents must be physically trapped and removed. Never, ever use poison! Most Logansport exterminators will just use this lazy poison technique to kill rodents, and it causes more harm than good - dead stinky rats, and it doesn't solve the problem. Call us for correct Logansport rat removal. Read more about how to get rid of rats.
Bat removal is a highly specialized task. Indiana is known to have colonizing bats who often live in buildings. Bats love attics. If not removed, the colony can grow to a very large size over the years. The bat droppings are often corrosive and cause health risks. The same goes for bird droppings on or in buildings. We perform Logansport pigeon removal and bird control. But our specialty is Logansport bat removal. We remove 100% of the bat colony and seal the building so that it's totally bat-proof. Read more about how to get rid of bats.
If you have animals inside a house, no job is complete without proper exclusion repairs. If you simply hire a Logansport trapper who only removes the critters, then the problem will return. You need to hire a Logansport wildlife control company that identifies 100% of the animal entry points into your building, and seals them shut with professional repairs. In addition, in many cases animals have left waste or contamination behind, and you'll want a company that can provide professional cleaning services. American Animal Control, LLC does both.
The above are just some of the services offered by American Animal Control, LLC. We also trap and remove animals that destroy lawns, such as moles, or digging animals. Sometimes animals like opossums will live under buildings, steal pet food, raid garbage cans, etc. Read about how to get rid of opossums. Skunks commonly live under sheds or decks, and set up a den. We can trap and remove them without them spraying. Read about how to get rid of skunks. American Animal Control, LLC also provides dead animal removal in Logansport. If you need help with any other wildlife conflict, from a fox, beaver, groundhog, or any other critter, we can solve it. We also do Logansport snake removal - most of the snakes in Indiana are not venomous, but call us if you want safe removal, or read about how to get rid of snakes in Logansport. And remember, we are a private business, not Cass County Animal Control Services, so if you have a dog or cat problem, call the County at 219-753-3690. Cass County animal services does not handle any wildlife issues.

Logansport Wildlife Tip #1:
What to do about rodent feces in attic - The sad fact of the matter when it comes to animal removal from your home is that the removal of the creature is often the easiest part of the job, especially when you consider animals like the rodent, and the areas within your home that it chooses to live, such as the attic. Once you have successfully removed the creature from your home, you will find that there are many more problems to have to deal with, and just one of these problems will be rodent feces in attic. There are three main steps to ensuring that your house is possum-free once the animal itself has been safely removed, and the first of these steps is, of course, the clean up. This means that you will need to remove all of the poop from the attic, and alongside doing this by hand, you may want to consider getting rid of the smaller offending particles by using a vacuum cleaner that is old and not used, or hiring a professional in to do the job for you. You will also need to clear out things such as attic insulation, and in cases of very bad infestations from these creatures, you may find that a much easier task will be to replace the entire insulation, rather than just trying to clean up the stuff you already have in there. Following the clean up, you have the decontamination, which will require certain special products that are specifically designed to kill of the biohazard and disease that the rodent could very well have left behind. Give the local wildlife control guys a call and they can point you in the right direction, and you can always look online or the right tools for the job. The final stage in removing rodent feces in attic is to restore everything back to how it was before the animal moved in, and this is usually things such as replacing electrical wiring or dry wall, making sure that the attic insulation has been correctly replaced, and perhaps even a lick of pain here and there.

Logansport Wildlife Tip #2:
Skunk cleanup - Cleaning up after a skunk means trying to find a way to get rid of the smell that seems to cling to the animal no matter what. A skunk living around your home will damage your landscaping and possibly raid your garden and any other food items you have outside. Before you start the cleanup process, you need to make sure your yard is as unappealing to skunks as possible. This means keeping your grass short to eliminate a surplus of bugs, keeping compost buried, keeping trash inside until the morning of pick up, and not leaving out pet food for animals that come and go as they please. Once your yard has been secured against animal invaders, you can start repairing the damage. The holes in your yard will not be too difficult to repair. If you have to reseed, just make sure you purchase a grass seed that matches the color of your yard. For eliminating smells, there are commercial enzymatic cleaners on the market, though they are very expensive. Sometimes allowing the space time to air out is the only option. Tight areas like crawlspaces can be bombarded with baking powder to try and control the odor.

Indiana Wildlife Information:

Indiana State bird: Northern cardinal
State fish: Largemouth bass

Indiana is one of the larger states in the country, and it was sculpted millions of years ago by receding glaciers. The part of the state formed in this manner is full of rich soil, ideal for farming. Because the state is primarily rolling hills and flat plains, agriculture is the main focus of many people living in the region. Not surprisingly, farming brings with it a slew of animals that like to live off of crops. Probably the most detrimental of these species is the prairie dog. With an extensive network of tunnels, the smart mammal can inadvertently compromise structural integrity of buildings or cause machines to get stuck out in fields. If farmers are really unlucky, livestock, like cows, will get their legs stuck in the holes. A cow with a broken legs rarely recovers and lives another day.

But prairie dogs aren't the only creatures on the lookout for fields of crops. Wild hogs are problematic in Indiana. The large combative pigs only have a few natural predators: coyotes and cougars. The mountain lion won't eat a pig a day; if anything, it might eat a pig a week. Such a limited diet does nothing for population control. Coyotes are more apt to eat a number of pigs, but the hogs are so fierce, it would take a sizeable pack to run one down. Humans have been incorporated into the process of controlling these swine, and open seasons for hunting are common.

If the hogs and the prairie dogs don't get the farmers, the birds just might. Crop fields are favorite places for flocks of birds to congregate and eat seed. Most fields are so large and densely planted that a few crows or geese can't hurt them, but private farmers can lose an entire crop to over-zealous geese.

Even though there are no real mountains in this state, there are a number of deep stream ravines. These regions have allowed beavers to flourish, and the more pools the beavers create, the more animals like muskrats, blue herons, and frogs will be seen.

Indiana only has four venomous snakes, two of which are species of rattle snakes. The other two venomous snakes are copperheads and cottonmouths. There are 30 other non-venomous snake species in the state.

Raccoons, skunks, opossums, and squirrels are also abundant.
