If you are having a problem with wildlife in your Missoula home, your best option is to hire a company that specializes in Montana wildlife removal only. This is a specialty business, and regular
pest control companies do not use the proper techniques to solve animal problems. I have spent many years reviewing Missoula, and I recommend the following:
THIS SPACE AVAILABLE

NOTE: If you have a dog or cat problem, call Missoula County Animal Services: 406-523-4785
THIS SPACE AVAILABLE specializes primarily in removing animals from attics of homes and buildings - this includes squirrels in attics, raccoons, and rats
or mice in homes. Montana also has a documented problem with
bats in buildings, and THIS SPACE AVAILABLE is specially trained in bat removal. They also perform general wildlife trapping services, such as the capture and removal of skunks or opossums on the
property. Call ###-###-####
to discuss your critter problem and schedule a same-day or next-day appointment.
When hiring a company to solve your wild animal problem, you want these features:
- Specializes in wildlife removal, not pest control
- Fully Montana and Missoula County licensed and insured
- Works 7 days per week (critters don't take weekends off)
- Performs full building inspections: enters and inspects attic
- Performs exclusion repairs, with guarantee against animal re-entry
- Offers cleanup of biohazardous wildlife waste
THIS SPACE AVAILABLE is a full-service Missoula wildlife removal company. This is very different from a regular Missoula pest control company. The pest control companies spray poison to kill insects. This is not at all
similar to wildlife removal. THIS SPACE AVAILABLE performs a full inspection of the home or property, and determines why the animal(s) are there, and if inside a building, how the animals got inside. All
animals (including rodents) are trapped and removed, or if possible, removed from the building using special exclusion devices. Once the animals are gone, preventative repairs are essential, and
cleanup is sometimes recommended.
Missoula wildlife trapping - it's not as simple as it may seem. It's illegal in Montana to trap without a license. Trap type is very important and there are many different types, bait is somewhat relevant, trap placement
is vital, and there are dozens of small things that are very important to know.
Safety is a concern. Then once the animal is trapped, it must be removed and dealt with in the proper manner according to Montana law. We offer Missoula raccoon removal. Read more about how to get rid of raccoons.
Animals in attics - this is our specialty at THIS SPACE AVAILABLE. Many types of animals like to live in attics. This includes squirrels, raccoons, rats, mice, bats, birds, and even possums. Critters like to go into attics for a safe place to live
and raise their young. Removing animals from attics is very complex work, partly because of the presence of baby animals. If you need Missoula squirrel removal, we can remove all the squirrels from your attic, and seal out any future ones. Read more about how to get rid of squirrels.
Rodent control must be done in a very specific way. First off, the most important thing is that all the openings that rats and mice can use to enter a house be sealed. Then all the rodents must be physically trapped and removed.
Never, ever use poison! Most Missoula exterminators will just use this lazy poison technique to kill rodents, and it causes more harm than good - dead stinky rats, and it doesn't solve the problem. Call us for correct Missoula rat removal. Read more about how to get rid of rats.
Bat removal is a highly specialized task. Montana is known to have colonizing bats who often live in buildings. Bats love attics. If not removed, the colony can grow to a very large size over the years. The bat droppings are often corrosive and
cause health risks. The same goes for bird droppings on or in buildings. We perform Missoula pigeon removal and bird control. But our specialty is Missoula bat removal. We remove 100% of the bat colony and seal the building so that it's totally bat-proof. Read more about how to get rid of bats.
If you have animals inside a house, no job is complete without proper exclusion repairs. If you simply hire a Missoula trapper who only removes the critters, then the problem will return. You need to hire a Missoula wildlife control company that identifies 100% of the animal entry points
into your building, and seals them shut with professional repairs. In addition, in many cases animals have left waste or contamination behind, and you'll want a company that can provide professional cleaning services. THIS SPACE AVAILABLE does both.
The above are just some of the services offered by THIS SPACE AVAILABLE. We also trap and remove animals that destroy lawns, such as moles, or digging animals. Sometimes animals like opossums will live under buildings, steal pet food, raid garbage cans, etc.

. Skunks commonly live under sheds or decks, and set up a den. We can trap and remove them without them spraying. Read about how to get rid of skunks
. THIS SPACE AVAILABLE

call us if you want safe removal, or read about how to get rid of snakes
in Missoula. And remember, we are a private business, not Missoula County Animal Control Services, so if you have a dog or cat problem, call the County at 406-523-4785.

Missoula Wildlife Tip #1:
Raccoon on roof - A racoon on the roof is one of the most common issues homeowners have aside from the issue of rodent infestations. Raccoons can climb almost anything, and it's not difficult for them to scale the side of a home and make their way on top of the roof. There isn't much harm in having a raccoon up there as long as you make sure no damaged areas exist where the critter can get inside. One secondary concern about raccoons on a roof is that any urine eliminated on the shingles has the potential to seep down and drip off the side of the building. Racoons can carry leptospirosis, a potentially life-threatening infection that destroys the kidneys. If this bacterium gets on a wood pile or object that is then carried inside the home, children, pets, and other adults could possibly be at risk. The best thing you can do is keep a good eye on the upper aspect of your home. If you're diligent, the raccoon will not get inside and will eventually lose interest. Make sure there are no food sources up on the shingles, especially fruit fallen from nearby trees.
Missoula Wildlife Tip #2:
Trapping a possum - kill traps - If you are having serious issues with a possum that simply won't go away, you could consider using kill traps. As the name suggests, kill traps are ways of trapping a possum so that they are exterminated, rather than alive and with the need to relocate. Although there are more humane methods to remove the possum from your land or property, this is a favored option for a few, and it makes sense to know how to use them properly to ensure that everything goes according to plan. As long as they are used properly, kill traps for trapping a possum will kill the animal quickly and painlessly, and as long as all instructions are followed word for word, are relatively easy and pain free to set up. However, you may find that these simple tips may give you a helping hand to get everything done as soon as possible: Bait - try not to use meat as your bait when trapping a possum with kill traps. This could potentially attract other animals that you have no interest in trapping. Ideally, you will want to use fruit; perhaps try kiwi or apples? Time - you will want to place traps around in the later stages of the evening so that it is still light enough to see what you are doing safely, but still early enough to catch the possums before they head out on their nightly trails. They normally wake up to forage for food at around 9pm, and will return back to their beds for around 4am. Security - When you put the kill traps for trapping a possum on the ground, you will want to ensure it is tightly pegged to the floor so it cannot move. The same applies for traps that you are putting up higher - always make sure that it is securely attached to a tree or similar. Kids and pets - Always make sure that your kids and your household pets are safely inside the home before you set these traps up. You are trying to catch and kill a possum, after all, not your favorite pet! Sense - Use your head when you are using and setting up these kill traps. Always read all instructions given to you, don't test it out with your fingers because they will be broken by the traps, and at the same time, don't be stupid.
