How to capture a skunk that lives in my house - If a skunk is living in your house, it has to enter the building through a hole. Your first goal in skunk removal will be to locate all entry and exit holes for the animal. If you leave one undiscovered it could mean unsuccessful skunk trapping. Now that you've found all the skunk openings, you need to begin the hunt for some heavy rocks to close off all but one. At the last remaining opening, you will install a barrier fence that allows the skunk to leave. Taper this fence toward a cage trap, creating a tunnel effect. If the skunk wants to leave, it has no choice but to enter the cage trap. To ease the skunk's wary mind, make sure the trap is as steady as possible. Most wild animals will shy away from something that wobbles underfoot. You will also want to cover the trap with a tarp if you aren't using one with solid sides. Because the skunk is going to be funneled into the trap, using bait isn't necessary, though it may make your life a little easier. You can use marshmallows or wet cat food, but stay away from the cat food if there are hungry cats about.
