Professional Wildlife Removal Company Servicing Providence, RI

Providence Wildlife Animal Control

If you are having a problem with wildlife in your Providence home, your best option is to hire a company that specializes in Rhode Island wildlife removal only. This is a specialty business, and regular pest control companies do not use the proper techniques to solve animal problems. I have spent many years reviewing Providence, and I recommend the following:

Bay State Wildlife
Cell Phone: 401-223-4430

NOTE: If you have a dog or cat problem, call Providence County Animal Services: (401) 273-0358

Bay State Wildlife specializes primarily in removing animals from attics of homes and buildings - this includes squirrels in attics, raccoons, and rats or mice in homes. Rhode Island also has a documented problem with bats in buildings, and Bay State Wildlife is specially trained in bat removal. They also perform general wildlife trapping services, such as the capture and removal of skunks or opossums on the property. Call 401-223-4430 to discuss your critter problem and schedule a same-day or next-day appointment.

When hiring a company to solve your wild animal problem, you want these features:
    - Specializes in wildlife removal, not pest control
    - Fully Rhode Island and Providence County licensed and insured
    - Works 7 days per week (critters don't take weekends off)
    - Performs full building inspections: enters and inspects attic
    - Performs exclusion repairs, with guarantee against animal re-entry
    - Offers cleanup of biohazardous wildlife waste

Bay State Wildlife is a full-service Providence wildlife removal company. This is very different from a regular Providence pest control company. The pest control companies spray poison to kill insects. This is not at all similar to wildlife removal. Bay State Wildlife performs a full inspection of the home or property, and determines why the animal(s) are there, and if inside a building, how the animals got inside. All animals (including rodents) are trapped and removed, or if possible, removed from the building using special exclusion devices. Once the animals are gone, preventative repairs are essential, and cleanup is sometimes recommended.

Providence wildlife trapping - it's not as simple as it may seem. It's illegal in Rhode Island to trap without a license. Trap type is very important and there are many different types, bait is somewhat relevant, trap placement is vital, and there are dozens of small things that are very important to know. Safety is a concern. Then once the animal is trapped, it must be removed and dealt with in the proper manner according to Rhode Island law. We offer Providence raccoon removal. Read more about how to get rid of raccoons.
Animals in attics - this is our specialty at Bay State Wildlife. Many types of animals like to live in attics. This includes squirrels, raccoons, rats, mice, bats, birds, and even possums. Critters like to go into attics for a safe place to live and raise their young. Removing animals from attics is very complex work, partly because of the presence of baby animals. If you need Providence squirrel removal, we can remove all the squirrels from your attic, and seal out any future ones. Read more about how to get rid of squirrels.
Rodent control must be done in a very specific way. First off, the most important thing is that all the openings that rats and mice can use to enter a house be sealed. Then all the rodents must be physically trapped and removed. Never, ever use poison! Most Providence exterminators will just use this lazy poison technique to kill rodents, and it causes more harm than good - dead stinky rats, and it doesn't solve the problem. Call us for correct Providence rat removal. Read more about how to get rid of rats.
Bat removal is a highly specialized task. Rhode Island is known to have colonizing bats who often live in buildings. Bats love attics. If not removed, the colony can grow to a very large size over the years. The bat droppings are often corrosive and cause health risks. The same goes for bird droppings on or in buildings. We perform Providence pigeon removal and bird control. But our specialty is Providence bat removal. We remove 100% of the bat colony and seal the building so that it's totally bat-proof. Read more about how to get rid of bats.
If you have animals inside a house, no job is complete without proper exclusion repairs. If you simply hire a Providence trapper who only removes the critters, then the problem will return. You need to hire a Providence wildlife control company that identifies 100% of the animal entry points into your building, and seals them shut with professional repairs. In addition, in many cases animals have left waste or contamination behind, and you'll want a company that can provide professional cleaning services. Bay State Wildlife does both.
The above are just some of the services offered by Bay State Wildlife. We also trap and remove animals that destroy lawns, such as moles, or digging animals. Sometimes animals like opossums will live under buildings, steal pet food, raid garbage cans, etc. Read about how to get rid of opossums. Skunks commonly live under sheds or decks, and set up a den. We can trap and remove them without them spraying. Read about how to get rid of skunks. Bay State Wildlife also provides dead animal removal in Providence. If you need help with any other wildlife conflict, from a fox, beaver, groundhog, or any other critter, we can solve it. We also do Providence snake removal - most of the snakes in Rhode Island are not venomous, but call us if you want safe removal, or read about how to get rid of snakes in Providence. And remember, we are a private business, not Providence County Animal Control Services, so if you have a dog or cat problem, call the County at (401) 273-0358. Providence County animal services does not handle any wildlife issues.

Providence Wildlife Tip #1:
Tips on trapping rodents - So, you have a problem with an rodent and you want to sort it out? There is no need to worry or stress, these simple tips will give you helpful information on how to make sure your traps work to effectively and safely trap the nuisance animal so you can then go on ahead to release it or hand it over to the professionals to let them sort it out! Firstly, with live traps, you will need to choose bait. This could be cat food, sweet fruit like apples, or meat - you will find lots of information online on which bait to use, but a bit of trial and error on your part will soon lead you to the right ones. Make sure that your trap is on flat ground, with nothing around it, and cannot be moved. Although the possum may not look like much, it weighs in at around the same size of a cat and you will want to be sure the creature doesn't try to throw its weight around. One wrong move and the rodent could tip the cage over, potentially releasing itself or injuring itself; two things that you definitely don't want. Also, be ensuring there is no debris or anything around, you can make sure the animal goes into the trap, rather than around or no top of it. If the creature jumps on top, the mechanism could go off, and this will make the trap pointless with no animal inside! Test the trap! This is important! A trap that doesn't work could go off for no reason, could not go off at all, or could go off incorrectly. These scenarios could lead to an escaped rodent, an empty cage, or an injured rodent; again, three things that you do not want to happen. Finally, make sure that you place the rodent traps in the right place, and in the right direction. You can keep an eye out after dark for where the rodent seems to be running - this will help you with good trap placement and will ensure that your animal is caught as quickly as possible.

Providence Wildlife Tip #2:
What to do when a skunk is in the walls - Having a skunk in the walls means a skunk has found a way inside of your home. This isn't the most common scenario, but if a foundation is damaged enough, it won't take long for a skunk to realize the wall is a warm, dry place to be. The best way to handle this situation, if you don't want to call in a professional, is to trap and remove the animal on your own. This shouldn't be as difficult as it seems; the animal has a direct entry point into your home, so you know where you need to set up your trap. The most common concern for trappers is how to avoid getting sprayed. If you're using a cage trap, you can keep the skunk calm and avoid being sprayed by placing a tarp of a blanket over the top and sides. There are special traps that can be purchased online. These have solid sides and provide the same type of protection as the blanket or tarp. To bait your trap, you can use marshmallows, or, if there are no stray cats around, you can use wet cat food.
