When hiring a company to solve your wild animal problem, you want these features:

  • Specializes in wildlife removal, not pest control
  • Fully Arkansas and Crittenden County licensed and insured
  • Works 7 days per week (critters don't take weekends off)
  • Performs full building inspections: enters and inspects attic
  • Performs exclusion repairs, with guarantee against animal re-entry
  • Offers cleanup of biohazardous wildlife waste

  • General's Wildlife Removal is a full-service West Memphis wildlife removal company. This is very different from a regular West Memphis pest control company. The pest control companies spray poison to kill insects. This is not at all similar to wildlife removal. General's Wildlife Removal performs a full inspection of the home or property, and determines why the animal(s) are there, and if inside a building, how the animals got inside. All animals (including rodents) are trapped and removed, or if possible, removed from the building using special exclusion devices. Once the animals are gone, preventative repairs are essential, and cleanup is sometimes recommended.

West Memphis wildlife trapping - it's not as simple as it may seem. It's illegal in Arkansas to trap without a license. Trap type is very important and there are many different types, bait is somewhat relevant, trap placement is vital, and there are dozens of small things that are very important to know. Safety is a concern. Then once the animal is trapped, it must be removed and dealt with in the proper manner according to Arkansas law. We offer West Memphis raccoon removal. Animals in attics - this is our specialty at General's Wildlife Removal. Many types of animals like to live in attics. This includes squirrels, raccoons, rats, mice, bats, birds, and even possums. Critters like to go into attics for a safe place to live and raise their young. Removing animals from attics is very complex work, partly because of the presence of baby animals. If you need West Memphis squirrel removal, we can remove all the squirrels from your attic, and seal out any future ones. Read more about how to get rid of squirrels.

Rodent control must be done in a very specific way. First off, the most important thing is that all the openings that rats and mice can use to enter a house be sealed. Then all the rodents must be physically trapped and removed. Never, ever use poison! Most West Memphis exterminators will just use this lazy poison technique to kill rodents, and it causes more harm than good - dead stinky rats, and it doesn't solve the problem. Call us for correct West Memphis rat removal. Read more about how to get rid of rats.

Bat removal is a highly specialized task. Arkansas is known to have colonizing bats who often live in buildings. Bats love attics. If not removed, the colony can grow to a very large size over the years. The bat droppings are often corrosive and cause health risks. The same goes for bird droppings on or in buildings. We perform West Memphis pigeon removal and bird control. But our specialty is West Memphis bat removal. We remove 100% of the bat colony and seal the building so that it's totally bat-proof. Read more about how to get rid of bats.

If you have animals inside a house, no job is complete without proper exclusion repairs. If you simply hire a West Memphis trapper who only removes the critters, then the problem will return. You need to hire a West Memphis wildlife control company that identifies 100% of the animal entry points into your building, and seals them shut with professional repairs. In addition, in many cases animals have left waste or contamination behind, and you'll want a company that can provide professional cleaning services. General's Wildlife Removal does both.

The above are just some of the services offered by General's Wildlife Removal. We also trap and remove animals that destroy lawns, such as moles, or digging animals. Sometimes animals like opossums will live under buildings, steal pet food, raid garbage cans, etc. Read about how to get rid of opossums. Skunks commonly live under sheds or decks, and set up a den. We can trap and remove them without them spraying. Read about how to get rid of skunks. General's Wildlife Removal also provides dead animal removal in West Memphis. If you need help with any other wildlife conflict, from a fox, beaver, groundhog, or any other critter, we can solve it. We also do West Memphis snake removal - most of the snakes in Arkansas are not venomous, but call us if you want safe removal, or read about how to get rid of snakes in West Memphis. And remember, we are a private business, not Crittenden County Animal Control Services, so if you have a dog or cat problem, call the County at (870) 732-7599. Crittenden County animal services does not handle any wildlife issues.

    West Memphis Wildlife Tip #1:
What are the mating habits of the snake and do they lay eggs or have babies?

If a female snake is ready to mate, she can release pheromones. It is a special scent released from the glands found on its back skin. When a female moves throughout the day, she leaves the odor and a trail when pushing past many resistance points. If a male is sexually mature, it will catch this scent and it will follow the trail up to the time it finds a female.

When a female has been found by a male, the courtship will start. It is normally done through bumping the chin at the back of the head of the female and then crawling on her. When a female is ready, she will give the indication through raising her tail, and at this juncture a male will wrap its tail on the female. The tail bottom will meet on the cloacae. The male will use its two sex organs, and it will extend and then release its span. It may take a few minutes, but in some cases it may take even a day.

The female snake can reproduce once or twice every year. The birth method varies with different species, and some of the snakes can give birth to live young ones. Other snakes will lay eggs, and it can be only one egg or over 100 eggs.

Some of the snakes will hold the eggs internally up to the time the eggs are ready to hatch or the babies come out when they are alive. In many cases, a female is not going to sit on eggs as is the case with other creatures that lie eggs. However, the snake can be protective of the eggs or the young ones when they have hatched.

It is important to note that the mating habits may differ according to the location or species of a snake. In the standard practices, a mature female and male have to find one another. When snakes live in colder regions, the mating will happen early in the summer and late in the spring. In tropical regions, the mating process may happen throughout the year. Mating will depend on the prevailing temperature or food availability.

The male snake will be aggressive in the mating season and it can fight others in order to get female attention. The female will make the final decision on who it should mate with and who has to go away. The males may stay behind up to the time that it is clear that their chance is gone.

    Arkansas Wildlife Information:

    Arkansas State bird: Mockingbird
    State mammal: White-tailed deer
    State insect: European honeybee

Arkansas, with its rolling hills, areas of flat plains and fertile soil, is known as 'the natural state'. It is home to a number of impressive landmarks, one of which being the Crowley Ridge, a region of foothills dissecting the Delta plain. The plain is otherwise flat, and the Crowley Ridge is remarkably distinct from a bird's eye view. Though much of the region is flat farmland, the northwestern area of the state is home to the Ozark Mountains, the only major mountain range between the Rockies and the Appalachians. The Ozark Mountains are filled with caves, making them ideal for supporting the state's 16 different species of bats. The summers in Arkansas are warm and humid, and the winters can be very dry but cool. Because of the elevations differences around the state, Arkansas can see significant snowfalls during the winter months.

The state, despite its renowned landmarks and preserved areas of wilderness, once had few large animals that called the place home. Originally, before massive efforts to more toward agriculture, black bears and elk were common. Humans almost wiped both species out, but with intervention from the state, both species have started to thrive once more. The wild hog, which is not native to Arkansas, has help the propagation of another species-the coyote. Coyotes were once considered rare in Arkansas, but with an influx of hogs and rodent species, the canines now have substantial populations in every county of the state. Pocket gophers, one of the most common nuisance animals in this region, are also on the list of food species for intermediate predators.

White-tailed deer, though very common, are not often on the list of prey animals for black bears, coyotes, or bobcats.

Nuisance critters are common in Arkansas. Because bats as so numerous in this state, it's inevitable that homeowners will eventually find bats roosting in an attic or an old barn. Most of the species prefer the quiet of mountain caves, but a human dwelling will do in a pinch. The caves are also home to endangered crayfish and the Ozark cavefish. Mount Magazine, in the Quachita Mountains, is the highest point in the state and is also home to a rare species of terrestrial snail.

Other common nuisance animals in this area of the country include raccoons, opossums, rats, mice, squirrels, foxes, rabbits, moles, skunks, and snakes.
