What is the best brand cage trap?

Often when a home is plagued with pesky critters the choice is made to trap the animals either for relocation or ease of quick disposal. When you begin shopping for a trap you will find a number of cage traps on the market. Which one is the best one on the market today? Although there are many varying views on the subject, the top selling trap on the market is the “Havahart Cage trap”. This model comes in several different styles and sizes. These cages are constructed from a heavy duty wire that resists clawing chewing and digging from the trapped animal to insure it cannot escape. The door is solid metal, and has reinforced hinges and springs to keep it securely closed. This cage trap, like other styles, operates on the premise of a pressure plate that is located under a bait tray found in the center of the cage.

When the animal activates the pressure plate it causes the door to quickly close behind the animal, permanently trapping it. Havahart traps boast that they are the most humane, effective cost efficient and durable traps on the market. They are available in one door, two door, and collapsible varieties. You can choose from a size perfect for catching whatever nuisance pest is causing you problems. Choose the small size for a mouse, rat, or vole, or chipmunk sized critter. A medium sized trap is perfect for trapping rabbits or skunks. Choose the large size trap if you are being plagued by raccoons, groundhogs, armadillos and opossums. Baiting and setting the trap is simple.

After choosing the proper bait, release the spring lever to open the door to the cage. After the lure is carefully placed on the tray in the center of the cage, hook the lever, setting the trap. The same lever will set either the one or two door styles. After the animal is trapped, the same method is used to open the door and remove the animal. Havahart brand traps are available at almost any hardware, feed store, or farm supply in the country, or on- line for delivery. When shopping for the perfect trap, remember, while there are others on the market, Havahart brand cages get the job done. Go back to the How to get rid of wildlife home page.
