Should I hire a pro or remove wild animals myself?

Most wild animals like rodents are very notorious and once they get into your property, they can feed and destroy a lot of things. They love invading the attic, the bird feeders, and the basement and also in the gardens because in this area they can find secure shelter and also abundant food supply. Once you identify any possible signs like chirping, scratching, jumping and bumping in the attic or any other dark corner, you have to prepare yourself to get rid of either one or several wild animals. You have a choice of either removing the animals yourself or getting help from professionals.

How can you get rid of wild animals?
Most wild animals that invade your property are harmless therefore makes it possible and easy to get rid of them yourself. The most important thing is to ensure that you identify the animal and use the best technique to safely evacuate it from your property. The next step is to identify their hiding place so that you can get rid of them without harming them or destroying your own property.

In the house:
When you have successfully identified their hiding place, you can comfortably get rid of them; if a wild animal like a squirrel is inside the wall, you can lower a pole which will allow him climb out of the wall. If there are babies, you can make a hole just above them and carefully remove them with your hands.

If they are in the attic, you can use sweet baits like nuts and bird seeds to lure them into the traps. This might also take a couple of hours but you have to frequently check on the traps. After the capture you can free the animals away from your home. You can also use repellents like ammonia soaked in balls or predators’ urine to scare them away.

In the garden:
You can quickly get rid of wild animals in the garden by first covering up their burrows then use live traps because they are very effective. Alternatively you can use repellents purchased from the stores.
